In latest news from Doon, with dissension coming to the fore following the announcement of the Congress candidates’ list for the upcoming Dehradun Municipal Corporation election slated on January 23, a former councillor from Ward 11 (Vijay Colony) Anup Kumar quit the party on being denied the party ticket for the Ward. He said that the rank and file of the party who had stood by it through thick and thin for years were unhappy with the ticket being given to a woman who is a complete stranger to the party’s grass root workers, adding that the sister- in- law of Jwalapur MLA had been given the ticket for the Ward no 11 at the legislator’s behest, disregarding the workers’ sentiment.
