Deploy mechanical excavators 24×7 at Sirohbagad slide zone: Kumar

Health secretary and secretary in- charge of Char Dham Yatra, R Rajesh Kumar has directed officers of Public Works Department (PWD) and administration for round the clock deployment of mechanical excavators at Sirohbagad landslide zone in Rudraprayag district. He said that Sirohbagad is a very sensitive landslide zone and the road here gets blocked even in light rain. The secretary directed that the phone number of the excavator operator should be available with all the officers of administration so that the road block is cleared as soon as possible.
Kumar visited Kedarnath shrine on Monday to inspect the arrangements made by the district administration of Rudraprayag for the Yatra. He said that the State government is committed to a safe and accessible Yatra for the pilgrims.
During his visit Kumar inspected facilities and arrangements in the district hospital of Rudraprayag. He directed the chief medical officer and medical superintendent to ensure that the treatment of the indisposed pilgrims starts on priority basis.
Kumar said that the health department has deployed 180 doctors in the Char Dhams.
He directed that the CT machine which has been approved should be installed without any delay.
The secretary in charge of Yatra directed the municipal council, Nagar Panchayat and district panchayat for maintaining sanitation in the Yatra points.
He directed the Jal Sansthan for ensuring proper supply of drinking water in the Yatra.
Kumar also inspected many food outlets and restaurants in Rudraprayag city during his visit. He directed that the edible items should not be kept in open and special care of maintaining quality of food should be done.
The representative of the Vyapar Mandal met the secretary and informed him about the lack of proper drinking water and toilet facilities in Rudraprayag market.
The secretary met the district magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar and superintendent of police Vishakha Ashok Badhane at GMVN guest house. The DM informed the secretary about the arrangements and facilities on the Yatra route of Kedarnath. The SP gave an account of the traffic plan for the Yatra.
The CM Dr HC Martorlia informed that five medical officers (MOs) and one physician from other districts have been deployed for Kedarnath Yatra. Similarly nine MOs and one orthopaedic doctor from Rudraprayag are deployed in Yatra.
Joint director Dr Amit Sukla, chief development officer GS Khati, MS Dr Manoj Badoni and senior officers of administration and other departments were present during the visit of the secretary.
