Deployment of paramilitary forces increased on Char Dham routes

In view of the rising Char Dham pilgrim footfalls,  Uttarkashi police have started tightening the security network further. Extensive preparations are being made with coordination among the police, SDRF and Central Armed Police Forces to ensure fool-proof security in the mountainous terrain, sensitive Yatra routes and crowded places. Notably, the district is home to two of the four Dhams: Gangotri and Yamunotri.  

To inspect and review from the ground how things stand, the superintendent of police, Uttarkashi, Kamlesh Upadhyay inspected the CAPF camp set up at Pilot Baba Ashram in Maneri area.  
During the inspection, the SP thoroughly inspected the accommodation, food, sanitation, drinking water, electricity and other basic facilities of the ITBP jawans deployed there and directed the officers concerned to ensure that the security forces on the pilgrimage duty do not face any inconvenience.  

During the inspection, the SP interacted with ITBP officers and jawans and exhorted the jawans to facilitate a safe pilgrimage for the people streaming  into the district.

In addition to the hiked surveillance along the pilgrimage routes, special strategies are being adopted for crowd control, traffic management and disaster management.

During the inspection, the inspector in-charge Maneri, Deepak Nautiyal along with ITBP officers and jawans was present.
