Dept of Commerce organizes industry interaction meet in Doon

An industry interaction meet was organised in the provisional State capital on Wednesday by the department of Commerce of Government of India. The Union commerce secretary Sunil Barthwal was the chief guest of the programme.
The event was attended by senior officers of union and state governments and witnessed active participation from industry leaders, CEOs and experts from sectors such as FMCG, organic produce, rice, millets, chemicals, electronics, engineering, fish and marine products, handicrafts, honey, vegetables, processed food, spices, tea and packaging.
Many important memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed during the event, reflecting the strategic partnerships aimed at boosting Uttarakhand’s agricultural export landscape.
The House of Himalayas Limited entered into a MoU with the Lulu Group to promote and export high-quality agricultural and processed food products sourced from the Himalayan region to international markets. It also signed a MoU with Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), focusing on improving packaging standards for Uttarakhand’s produce to meet international demand. The State Horticulture Mission (Uttarakhand) and the Spices Board inked a MoU to promote the cultivation of large cardamom and other Spices in various parts of Uttarakhand.
Principal secretary R K Sudhanshu, secretary Radhika Jha and other senior officers attended the programme.
