Dept told to identify land for film city in U’khand

Land for building a film city should be identified in Uttarakhand. A work plan for developing the basic infrastructural facilities related to the film industry in the planned film city should also be prepared. The basic facilities for film shooting and production should be made available in the film city. Special principal secretary Abhinav Kumar said this while chairing a review meeting of the Information department here on Tuesday.
Kumar said that a national level film training institution should be contacted and a branch of the institute should be opened in Uttarakhand. Further, a scheme should be made to provide subsidy for mobile theatre in mountainous and border areas of the State. If any film made in any of the languages of Uttarakhand is chosen for national or international level film festival a subsidy scheme for encouragement should also be prepared. Kumar further directed that courses related to film and film production should also be started in the universities of Uttarakhand. Cases related to the CM helpline should be resolved on a priority basis, he added.
He further directed that a proposal should be made for identifying land for the Haldwani media centre.
Director general of information, Ranveer Singh Chauhan said that suggestions are being taken from the website and other media for new rules for press accreditation. Similarly, the suggestions of the stakeholders concerned will also be taken before preparing the new film policy. Additional director Anil Chandola, joint directors Ashish Tripathi, KS Chauhan, deputy director Manoj Srivastava and others were also present in the meeting.
