Deputy finance controller of G B Pant University dismissed on fake caste certificate

Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar has dismissed Satya Prakash Kuril for joining as the assistant accountant with the help of a fake caste certificate. He later became the deputy finance controller of the university. He was sacked following the recommendation of Manmohan Singh Chouhan, the vice-chancellor of the university. The chief personnel officer BL Firmal acted on the recommendation of the VC and dismissed him. It is also learnt that a case will be registered against the accused.
Satya Prakash Kuril assumed charge as the assistant accountant in Pantnagar University on April 30 1998. In 2005, he applied for the post of accounts officer reserved for the Scheduled Castes and attached a Scheduled Caste Certificate issued on April 6, 2005 by Kichha Tehsildar. After appointment, he assumed charge as the accounts officer on September 5 2005. He was promoted to the post of deputy finance controller on October 25 2010.
In December 2017, some employees of the university wrote to the chancellor (Governor), vice chancellor and director of administration, demanding his dismissal on the ground of his caste and residence certificates being fake.
