The Tourism department will take the services of world famous designers to develop the Tehri dam reservoir into a world class tourist destination. The State’s Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj said this while presiding over the board meeting of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) here on Monday.
In addition to using designers for developing the Tehri lake, the minister proposed setting up foot massage centres at the trekking centres there. He directed officials to prepare tourism booklets on Bhagwati circuit, Shaiv circuit, Nagraja circuit, Mahasu circuit and other such tourism circuits.
Tourism secretary Dilip Jawalkar informed about the work being undertaken to build an international wellness and convention centre for which the land survey had been completed in the past. Various other issues were also discussed in the board meeting.
