Develop Chomasi-Kedarnath route as an alternative during disaster : Rawat

Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat has said that the State administration should develop and make use of Chomasi-Kedarnath bridle path as an alternative route to Kedarnath during natural disasters.
Interacting with the media persons at Rudraprayag on Friday the former CM said that the State government in 2015 had made a plan to develop the old route from Chomasi village to Kedarnath but the next government failed to work on the plan. He said that one of the objectives of the Hito Kedar Yatra was to find an alternate and safe route to Kedarnath Dham.
Meanwhile, on the direction of former CM Rawat, former Kedarnath MLA Manoj Rawat reached Chomasi village on foot from Sonprayag on Friday. Talking to The Pioneer he said that the old route from Chomasi village to Kedarnath is the safest route and is free from the effects of disaster. He said that Rambada used to be the marketplace of the people of Chomasi village in old times. Rawat said that the administration should make use of this route during the time of disaster.
