In latest Uttarakhand news, the State Finance and Urban Development minister Prem Chand Agarwal appreciated the dedication of the Baini Sena while addressing a meeting in Haldwani. He further said that the Baini Sena is a powerful instrument of women empowerment. Dwelling on the development of Haldwani, the minister said that 30,000 street lights have already been installed and 5,000 more would be installed soon. He inspected the open park in Damuadhunga. The mayor Jogendra Pal Singh Rautela said that tender floating process has started regarding the projects to be launched on Rs 2200 crore as announced by the PM Modi for the speedy development of Haldwani. In the first leg, tendering for sewer, drinking water and integrated road projects worth Rs 700 crore has been completed and work on a modern building to come up in the tehsil premises would be started soon at the cost of Rs 245 crore. After this project is completed, all offices functioning in the tehsil premises would start functioning under one roof, he said, adding that the inter-city bus terminal would also be functioning from within this premises.
