Deworming drive commences in U’khand

43.55 lakh children between one to 19 years to be covered

The education and health minister Dhan Singh Rawat started the massive deworming drive of 43.55 lakh students on Monday by administering the dose of Albendazole to 10 students at Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidhyalaya . Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the deworming drive would be undertaken in all 13 districts of the state till April 23. He said that a total of 5780 employees have been enrolled for the drive.

The director general (DG) health services Dr Tripti Bahuguna said that the department has provided 43,55,205 Albendazole tablets for the drive. She said that the messages were sent to the parents that they must send their wards to the schools on April 18.

The Director General (DG) school education, Bansidhar Tiwari said that all the schools of the state are working with dedication to make the drive a huge success.
