DGP briefs team for Modi’s arrival today

The Uttarakhand police have made elaborate security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dehradun today. The Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar along with senior police officers briefed the police force deployed in the VVIP security duty for the PM in Parade Ground on Friday. The DGP directed the police personnel to arrive three hours before the scheduled time at their duty. He said that only authorised persons should be allowed inside and those meeting VVIPs should also be closely monitored by the security.

He directed the officials concerned to allow only listed people inside after the anti-sabotage checking. All the station in-charges have been instructed to conduct a checking campaign in Dharamshalas, hotels, bus stations and railway stations in their respective areas to ensure safety. The DGP said that the administration will not tolerate any kind of neglect on duty on Saturday.  Besides the DGP, the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Janmejaya Khanduri, Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) V Murugesan and Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) Sanjay Gunjayal were also present during the brief.
