The director general of police Ashok Kumar held a meeting with the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh and other senior police officials of the district regarding the robbery carried out in the Reliance Jewels showroom on Thursday. Singh informed the DGP that the robbers reportedly belong to Bihar and have robbed similar stores of Reliance in other States like West Bengal, Maharashtra, Delhi and Odisha in the past few months. Police teams have been formed to investigate different aspects of the case. He said that the police recovered two motorcycles believed to have been used by the robbers, during the intensive checking on the border and internal roads of the district after the incident. The police also recovered another vehicle from the Selaqui area from which, the police have gathered crucial evidence as well, as per the SSP. Kumar also asked the officials to match the CCTV footage of the robbers in Dehradun with the incidents of a similar pattern in other States to get information about the latest status of the gang members involved in the above incidents in the past and other related offenses. He asked the officials to take all possible measures to nab the robbers.
