Taking cognisance of a brief video clip on social media showing a social media personality blocking a road and consuming alcohol, the director general of police Ashok Kumar has directed the Dehradun senior superintendent of police to probe the clip and initiate action against the guilty.
The video clip shows a social media personality from Haryana sitting on a main road, pouring whisky in a glass and drinking it during broad daylight while his accomplices apparently bar other vehicle users from plying on the road during the filming of the brief clip. Following the directions given by the DGP, the person in question commented on his Facebook page stating that he had no problem with yet another case being lodged against him. Meanwhile, the video clip has elicited strong reactions from netizens especially people of Uttarakhand who have questioned the brazen attitude of the person showing utter disregard for the law and civic sensibilities.
