In latest news from Uttarakhand, the State director general of police Abhinav Kumar directed the woman IPS officer Renuka Devi to investigate into the allegation of a police inspector- posted at Pantnagar police station- tormenting a woman with obscene proposals. Notably, the top cop of the State initiated action after the Kichha MLA Tilak Raj Behar wrote to him detailing the matter.
The inspector is learnt to have come into contact with the woman while dealing with a case. As per the allegation, the inspector would travel with the woman in his car and give vulgar proposals, but the woman refused to give in.
The DGP asked the investigating officer to submit fact- finding report within 48 hours and thereafter action would be taken against the cop if the allegation comes true.
