DGP reviews ongoing construction projects

The officiating director general of police Abhinav Kumar held a video conference with district, range and unit heads to review the progress of ongoing large-scale construction projects of the Police department across the State on Tuesday. The meeting focused on evaluating the status of various infrastructure developments under the police department, with an emphasis on timely completion and quality control. The inspector general of police Nilesh Anand Bharne presented a detailed overview of the approved and ongoing projects, including their financial outlays and current progress. The DGP interacted with the heads of the construction units, such as the Irrigation department, Potable Water department and BRIDCUL, to gather information on the expected timelines for the completion of these projects. Kumar directed district heads to ensure the proper demarcation of police department land and confirm its ownership in official records. He emphasised that future residential buildings should follow the G+4 model, with elevators installed to enhance the convenience of police personnel. He also stressed the importance of using high quality materials in all construction projects. The DGP also called for the preparation of a plan to replace old Type I quarters with Type II and Type III accommodations and instructed that a calendar be prepared for the inauguration of completed projects. He directed the officials to follow all the directions to ensure the improved infrastructure and living conditions for police personnel across the State.
