In latest news from Dehradun, the director general of police Uttrakhand Ashok Kumar has suspended the police sub- inspector who allegedly manhandled a journalist at the Vijaya Dasami programme held in Parade Ground in Dehradun. Kumar also sought probe report of the alleged incident in three days. Soon after the video involving the incident went viral on the social media platforms, the senior superintendent of police Dehradun Ajai Singh had attached the accused police officer to the police lines. However, the SSP’s step having failed to mollify the agitated media persons, the DGP issued the order of the accused officer’s suspension. Notably, a delegation of the media persons had met the DGP and while expressing their anger over the incident, demanded the DGP to take stern action against the accused.
