The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced free travel for all women in roadways buses on August 30 as a gift on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The secretary of the Transport department Arvind Singh Hyanki issued an order in this regard soon after the announcement on Friday. He said that like last year, women will be provided with free of cost travel facilities in buses run by Uttarakhand Transport Corporation across the state. The free ride will only be applicable for intra- state travel. He has also issued an order to the managing director of the transport corporation to make proper arrangements to ensure women can get the benefit of free travel on the occasion of Rakshabandhan across the State on August 30.
