Dhami inaugurates Delhi-Pithoragarh air service

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami formally inaugurated the Delhi-Pithoragarh air service of the Alliance Air from his camp office here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion he said that the long standing demand for an air service to Pithoragarh has now been fulfilled. He said that the air service will strengthen air connectivity in the border district of Pithoragarh. He said that at present it takes about 12 to 15 hours to travel from Pithoragarh to Delhi and the air service will reduce the travel time to only one hour. He said that the service will also help in increasing the number of tourists visiting Pithoragarh. The CM said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi top priority is being accorded to the development of the border areas and the air service in the State is getting extended with the help of the Union government.
The Delhi-Pithoragarh air service will operate regularly between T-3 terminal of the Delhi airport and Naini Saini airport of Pithoragarh from the month of April. The fare of the service would be about Rs 7,000 per passenger.
Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, additional secretary C Ravishankar, station manager of Alliance Air Arti Sharma and others were present on the occasion.
