Dhami invites Modi to inaugurate Global Investors Summit-2023

Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday and invited him to inaugurate the Global Investors Summit-2023. The summit will be organised on December 8 and 9 in Dehradun.

In the meeting the CM expressed gratitude to the PM for his guidance and help in the rescue operation to evacuate trapped labourers from the partially caved-in Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi. He said that the labourers were successfully rescued due to the resources provided by PM Modi and his regular monitoring of the situation which boosted the morale of the rescue team, trapped labourers and their family members.

Dhami also thanked the PM for including the Jamrani dam project in the Pradhamantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana and approving assistance of Rs 1,730.21 crore for it. He requested the PM for approving financial asiantance of Rs 2m460 crore for Song dam drinking water project and Rs 3m000 crore special grant for upgrading the Dehradun airport at Jolly Grant.

 In the meeting the CM requested that Uttarakhand should be included in the kiwi feasibility study being done with the help of New Zealand and setting up an All India Ayurved Sansthan in Rishikul college campus, Haridwar.

He also sought financial assistance of Rs 1,000 crore for 508 kilometre long roads in Pithoragarh and development of the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission. Dhami said that the Kathgodam- Bhimtal Dhanachuli- Khetikhan- Lohaghat- Pancheshwar road, Mogan- Bhatronjkhan- Bhikiasain- Deghat- Bungidhar-Mehelchori and Kherna- Ranikhet- Bhatrojkhan motor roads should should be upgraded to National Highways from State highways.

 The CM also requested that the Tanakpur- Bageshwar rail project should be included in the national project and approval of Rs 44,140 crore for it. He also demanded three tunnel projects in the Kumaon region. Dhami requested the PM for allowing fixed wing aeroplane service from Naini Saini airstrip and extension plan of the Pantnagar airport.

Dhami said that approval for the proposed hydropower projects on Dhauliganga and Gauri Ganga rivers in Pithoragarh district should be given. He said that the 11 non -controversial power projects of 771 MW  capacities on Alaknanda, Bhagirathi and their tributaries should be approved. Similarly the approval of construction of ten projects recommended by the Expert committee –II with combined capacity of 1,352 MW on Alaknanda and Bhagirathi should be given, the CM said.
