Dhami lands in Dubai to woo investors

In his endeavour to attract investments in the State chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Dubai on Monday.  He was accorded a rousing reception by the natives of Uttarakhand on his arrival in Dubai. Dhami expressed gratitude to the natives of Uttarakhand residing in Dubai for the welcome given to him.

The CM has undertaken an ‘invest in Uttarakhand campaign’ and will hold meetings with entrepreneurs and the non-resident Indians during his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

 Interacting with the people of Uttarakhand origin, the CM said that the Uttarakhand has a rich cultural heritage and exhorted them to visit their homeland at least once in a year. He said that a special cell has been set up by the State government for better coordination with the non resident natives of the state. Dhami said that the State government is planning to attract an investment of Rs 2.5 lakh crore from the global investors’ summit and the MoUs worth Rs 40,000 have already been signed ahead of the summit.

Dhami is on an official visit to Dubai and Abu Dhabi to interact with the business fraternity there for the global investors’ summit to be held in Dehradun in December this year. The CM is leading a delegation which will meet the representatives of top industrial houses and extend them an invitation to attend the investors’ summit. 

 On Tuesday the CM will attend a road-show in Dubai during which he will invite the entrepreneurs to invest in Uttarakhand. Dhami will also attend a roadshow in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

 In September the CM was on a five day visit to London and Birmingham where roadshows and meetings with the industrialists were held. His visit to Britain proved to be a success as Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth thousands of crores of rupees were inked in various sectors. The delegation accompanying the CM in Dubai will focus on attracting investment in infrastructure and health sectors in the State.

The education and health minister Dhan Singh Rawat is accompanying the CM on the visit.
