Dhami meets Gadkari, discusses road connectivity projects
Centre to provide Rs 250 crore to U’khand under CRIF scheme

On the second day of his New Delhi visit, the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Road Transport and Highways minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday. In the meeting the duo held detailed discussion on different projects related to road connectivity in the State. On the request of the CM, the union minister assured that projects worth Rs 250 crore would be approved from the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) to the State. Dhami requested that the national highways damaged by the recent rain triggered disaster should be repaired under the FDR (C) plan on which Gadkari said that a proposal for repair under the flood damage should be sent. The Union minister accepted the request of the CM that the Public Works Department (PWD) should be made the agency for the improvement and broadening of National Highway 109 K. He also directed the officers of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to expedite the construction of Mussoorie two- lane tunnel project. Dhami sought approval of Rs 367.35 crore DPR for two-lane of the Damta- Badkot road linking Yamunotri shrine. He said that the road is the alternate route to Yamunotri.
The CM requested that the Khatima- Pilibhit bypass should be constructed by the NHAI. On the request for construction of Railway Over Bridge (RoB) on the Khatima- Melaghat-Vanmohalia and Khatima- Lohiahead road, Gadkari directed the officers to undertake an examination. The CM added that the work on construction of a ring road in Dehradun should be expedited.
The CM also requested Gadkari for the approval for construction of many tunnel projects in Pithoragarh district of the State.
The cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj and secretary PWD Pankaj Pandey accompanied the CM in the meeting.
