Dhami meets Khattar, bats for development projects for Kumbh area

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met the Union Power, Housing and Urban Affairs minister Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi on Saturday. In the meeting, the CM requested for approval of Rs 325 crore Ganga corridor project in Haridwar. He said that in view of the Kumbh- 2027, the approval of the project will help in undergrounding of the power cables and installation of self-automation systems in Haridwar. He also requested release of remaining sum of Rs 425 crore for the second phase of the project.
Dhami also requested Khattar for central assistance for beautification of Ghats, urban infrastructure development and strengthening residential facilities in Haridwar and Rishikesh as part of the preparations for Kumbh-2027.
He also requested for extension of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project from Meerut to Haridwar and Rishikesh. Dhami said that the extension will help in making transport between these cities easy. He also pitched for the development of Dehradun- Haridwar- Rishikesh metro corridor. Dhami said that these environmental friendly projects will help in reducing dependency on road transport and reduce the menace of traffic jams. He averred that the initiative will help in connecting the major pilgrim centres of the State with a modern transport network and provide an impetus to the local economy, tourism and provide a fillip to development of the State.
The union minister assured positive action on the proposals submitted by Dhami.
