Dhami off to London to invite business fraternity for global investors’ summit

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami left for a five-day official visit to Britain on Monday to interact with the business fraternity there for the global investors summit to be held in Dehradun in December this year. The CM is leading a delegation which will meet the representatives of top industrial houses of the world and extend them an invitation to attend the investors’ summit. The delegation will visit London and Birmingham and hold meetings with the industrial houses of tourism, IT, education, healthcare, food processing and automobile industry. On September 26, a road show will be held in London and the delegation will hold a meeting with Poma Group, a leader in the field of ropeway. In the meeting, discussions will be held with the company for finding possibilities for eco-friendly mobility in the state. On the same day, a meeting will be held with other industrial houses in London in which a formal invitation will be extended for the summit. Apart from meeting the representatives of industry the delegation will also meet prominent personalities in London. On September 27 the delegation will meet representatives of Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) in Birmingham. Along with this, possibilities of investment in Uttarakhand will be discussed with TVS Norton group. The CM is also planning to meet big industrial houses having interests in the tourism sector.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Dhami government is hoping to attract investment to the tune of Rs 2.5 lakh crore from the global investors summit. In this endeavour to attract the attention of big investors and industrial houses the state government has started meetings with investors not only in the major cities of the country, but also in the foreign destinations. The tour of Britain by the CM is part of the exercise the State government has undertaken for the success of the global investors’ summit.
