Dhami on sop spree- announces relief in electricity & transport

Continuing the trend of making important and populist announcements during the ongoing monsoon session of Uttarakhand assembly, the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made many reliefs on Thursday.

He said that a rebate of three months would be provided to the consumers in their electricity bills. The measure is expected to benefit 2,24,604 people and would cost Rs 24.63 crore to the state government. Similarly the late fee surcharge on electricity bills would be waived for three months. In the transport department a relief of six months would be provided in the service tax while a relaxation of six months would be provided in the late fee for registration certificate, fitness, permit and driving license.  Dhami said that the sanitation workers of the urban development department would be given an allowance of Rs 2,000 per month for five months. It would benefit 8,300 workers.
