Dhami reaffirms commitment to stringent land law for protecting interests of U’khand’s people

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reiterated the commitment of his government to bring a stringent land law in Uttarakhand. Addressing Lakhpati Didi Abhiyan- Shakti Ko Samman programme at Agastyamuni in Rudraprayag district on Sunday, the CM said a stringent land law will soon be implemented in the interests of the people of the State.
He averred that the land of those who have illegally bought and sold land will be taken back from them and will be vested in the government. Dhami said that Uttarakhand has become the first State in the country where Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be implemented. Hitting out at the opposition, the CM said that some people are trying to spread canard, the CM said that the people of the State understand the designs of such people. He said that the Kedarnath Dham is unique and no temple will be allowed to be built using the names of the four Dhams of Uttarakhand at any place in the country.
The CM said that the local products of Kedar valley will be prepared and marketed by creating a Kedar brand in the country and abroad and it will be a major step in the direction of improving the livelihood of women. Along with the religious identity of Kedar valley, the state government will work to give a new identity to the valley, he averred.
Dhami said that on July 31 this year heavy rains caused heavy damage in the area due to which roads and bridle paths were closed. The CM said that about 15,000 pilgrims stranded on the Yatra route were rescued in record time. He was rescued safely. He added that the bridle path was also made operational in 15 days and the pilgrimage was restored within a month. The CM also thanked the local people for extending help in the rescue operation and resuming the Yatra.
He said that women power is playing a very important role in giving a new identity to the state. Thousands of women associated with hundreds of women self-help groups across the state are engaged in making world class products. Dhami said that the State government has formed the House of Himalayas company and is working to strengthen the women power by rebranding the state’s products. He said that more than 4,000 women in Rudraprayag district have been successful in becoming Lakhpati Didi.
The CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 141 projects of about Rs 195 crore on the occasion.
Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt, Tourism minister Satpal Maharaj, Forest minister Subodh Uniyal, Animal Husbandry minister Saurabh Bahuguna, district Panchayat president Amardei Shah, Rudraprayag MLA Bharat Singh Chaudhary, president of BJP Mahila Morcha Asha Nautiyal and others were present on the occasion.
