The Bharatiya Janata Party has emphasised the significance of appointing Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami as a star campaigner for the Delhi elections, calling it a strategic move to secure a major victory. The party is confident that Dhami’s involvement will help unite over 25 lakh Uttarakhandi migrants in Delhi in support of the BJP.

The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that Dhami’s appointment as a star campaigner has created an atmosphere of enthusiasm among party workers and the Uttarakhand diaspora residing in Delhi. Bhatt expressed happiness over this development and stated that the progress, prosperity and historic initiatives undertaken in Uttarakhand under Dhami’s leadership will become focal points of discussion in the Delhi elections.

He added that such narratives will strengthen voters’ trust in BJP governments, both at the state and national levels. Bhatt further stated that it is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand that Dhami has evolved into a national leader whose bold and historic decisions have set benchmarks for other states. He recalled that during the previous Lok Sabha elections, Dhami had successfully campaigned at over 60 locations across the country, delivering favourable results for the BJP. Similarly, his contributions in various assembly elections, including those in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand, and Jammu & Kashmir, have significantly benefited the party, Bhatt claimed.

Bhatt expressed confidence that the ongoing Delhi elections will witness overwhelming support for the BJP from Uttarakhandi migrants. With over 25 lakh Uttarakhandis residing in Delhi, Dhami’s presence is expected to generate substantial momentum in favor of the party. After the municipal election campaign concludes in Uttarakhand on January 21, Dhami will head to Delhi to join the campaign under the guidance of the party’s central leadership. His activities will include public meetings, roadshows, and outreach programs, further consolidating support for the BJP in the capital, he added.
