Dhami steps up action on administrative front

Undertakes review meeting with top officers of administration & police at secretariat

A day after the end of voting for the crucial Champawat Assembly by-poll, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stepped up action on the administrative front on Wednesday. He held a meeting with top officers of the administration at the state secretariat on the day. In the meeting which was attended by former chief secretary and electricity ombudsman Subhash Kumar, chief secretary S S Sandhu, additional chief secretary (ACS) Radha Raturi, ACS Anand Bardhan, director general of police Ashok Kumar, principal secretary (PS) R  K Sudhanshu, special PS Abhinav Kumar and others, Dhami took a review of  different issues concerning the state. He said that the arrangements at the Char Dham Yatra should be continuously monitored and should be ensured that the pilgrims don’t face any problem in the Yatra. He said that the system of registration should be further improved if needed.

Dhami said that  serious efforts are needed to be done for increasing the financial resources of the state. He said that such sectors should be identified  which could contribute to increasing the revenue of  the state.  Dhami opined that the hydro power resource is important in the power sector and solar sector should also be emphasised. On a stern note the CM said that line losses should be minimised in transmission of power.

He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special affinity towards Uttarakhand and under his guidance many important projects have been sanctioned. He said that coordination with officers of the centraldd government should be increased for implementation of government schemes and there should not be any  delay on the state’s front on these projects.

Dhami directed that the formalities required for expansion of Dehradun, Pantnagar and Pithoragarh airports should be completed at a fast pace. He said that there is a need to increase parking facilities in the mountainous areas.  Dhami directed that the road routes of the state should be strengthened and improved. He said that the road connecting the Mayawati Ashram, Patal Bhuvneshwari and Hingla Devi should be improved on a priority basis .
Dhami said that time limit should be fixed in disposal of files in the CM secretariat and this should be followed. In the meeting the CM also reviewed the progress on Jamrani Dam, national highways and law and order situation in the state. For improving law and order, the CM said that the police patrolling should be increased and the intelligence system should be strengthened.
