Friday, 03 June 2022 | PNS | Khatima

A day before counting of votes polled in the Champawat Assembly by-poll, chief minister and BJP candidate Pushkar Singh Dhami took some time out from his schedule to enjoy spicy Pani Puri at a shop in Khatima. He also interacted with the local citizens and offered the popular food item to some of the people who came to greet him during this brief break.

After polling for the Champawat Assembly by-poll was held on May 31, Dhami has been busy holding official meetings on various important issues. Reaching Kumaon on Thursday, he held meetings with officials on regional and other issues. While passing through Pilibhit Road in Khatima, the chief minister stopped at Rajkumar Sharma’s roadside Agra Chat Bhandar along with his staff and officials. The chief minister savoured hot and sour Pani Puri while standing on the roadside surrounded by his security staff and officials. He also offered Pani Puris to other locals at the place. Three girls who reached the vendor were also offered the popular item by Dhami. The chief minister enquired about their welfare while they also got selfies clicked with him. A few days ago, the CM had eaten roasted corn from a roadside vendor. These brief breaks being taken by the CM while eating popular dishes enjoyed by the people are also being seen as a way to connect with the people at the ground level.
