Dhami talks tough on officers not answering phone calls

Taking stern cognisance of the complaints from the general public and public representatives about the officers not answering phone calls, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that disciplinary action will be taken against such officers. He advised that if the officers are unable to receive the call for some reasons they should revert back later. He said that multipurpose camps should be held in the districts at regular intervals so that the people get benefit of the welfare schemes of the central and State government.
Dhami said that the officers should ensure that maximum numbers of the public grievances are resolved on the spot. The CM gave these orders while undertaking the first review meeting of the Programme Implementation department at the State secretariat on Friday. He said that a display board of 1064 toll free number regarding preventing corruption should be placed in all offices. The CM also directed the vigilance department to provide regular action taken reports on the complaints of corruption. In the meeting the CM directed the senior superintendents of police to undertake a campaign to dispose of such cases in which investigation is pending for more than a year.
He directed the Programme Implementation department to keep a record of the tours of the Gram Sabhas and Chaupals in the districts by the public representatives and officers. Dhami said that DMs should regularly visit Gram Sabha Chaupals and also send district level officers there. The CM said that the Garhwal and Kumaon commissioners should undertake regular reviews of the implementation of different welfare schemes of the government.
The CM advised the DMs that in view of the upcoming monsoon season a work plan should be prepared for the areas where the problem of water logging is more. On a stern note he said that the officers should be on an alert mode in view of the rainy season. The DMs should also hold regular reviews of the income and expenditure. Dhami said that regular review reports on the CM announcements should be sent to him. He directed that the work on the long term projects should be expedited. The CM also stressed on maintenance of roads. He said the DMs should send reports on the reasons for delay in the implementation of important projects. Dhami also directed the officers to expedite the works of Jal Jeevan Mission and asked them to make necessary preparations for preventing spread of the dengue and malaria.
The meeting was attended by the secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, secretary of Programme Implementation Deepak Kumar Gairola and others. Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat, the DMs and SSPs of all the districts attended the meeting in a virtual mode.
