Praising the Agnipath scheme of the Centre, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that it was the start of work to fulfil the promise of 10 lakh jobs promised in the next 18 months by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that recruitment of Agniveers in the armed forces under this scheme will not only provide jobs to the youth but also empower the forces while increasing the youth content in them. Stating that Uttarakhand is also known as Veer Bhumi due to the involvement of its people in the armed forces, he thanked PM Modi on behalf of the people of Uttarakhand. Youths aged between 17 and 21 years will be recruited in the armed forces under this scheme and this will start in the next 90 days.
