The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt has said that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had initiated a campaign keeping the policy of zero tolerance for corruption at the center. Taking cognisance of allegations of irregularities in Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission exam, the CM ordered an investigation following which 34 accused persons have been arrested so far. The probe into inspector recruitment scam has already been handed over to the Vigilance department while a special committee has been formed for investigation into appointments made in the Vidhan Sabha, said Bhatt.

The BJP State president said, “The series of investigations and the outcomes have maintained the faith of the general public especially the youth. These decisions will have a long lasting effect which will result in bringing transparency in competitive exams and in all other cases. The CM’s decisions have presented a clean and taintless image of the government while the trust of the people in the BJP has become stronger. The Congress which has indulged in all types of scams and corruption is giving discourse these days but the people have seen the face and character of the Congress in the past. The Congress and scams have an old connection. From the first elected government to the time of sting operations, the Congress has always tried to cover up such cases. On the other hand, the BJP did not delay and initiated investigation to dispel all doubts. The BJP has drawn a clear line for the future in which there is transparency and no room for any doubt. Chief minister Dhami and the BJP will fulfill the promises made to the youth. The courageous and ethical decisions taken by the chief minister will prove to be an example even for other parties,” said Bhatt.
