Dhami’s roadshow draws huge crowd in Agastyamuni

Chief minister Pushkar Singh took out a massive roadshow in Agastyamuni town of Rudraprayag district on Sunday. On his one-day visit to the district, the CM started the roadshow from old Dewal to the Agastyamuni sports ground. Large number of people from the town and nearby villages were lined up on both sides of the road to welcome the CM. MLAs Bharat Chaudhary, Shaila Rani Rawat and BJP district president Mahavir Panwar accompanied the CM in the roadshow.
The CM also attended the Bwyai, Bwari, Nauni Kauthig ( fair) at Rudraprayag on the day. In the fair he interacted with the members of different women self help groups and inquired about the local culture. He also participated in the Prasad making activity of the Women SHGs. Getting nostalgic, the CM said that he used to help his mother in the making of delicacies during the festival period. Dhami said that he had also collected fodder from the forest and helped his mother in kneading dough.
In the stall of the rural business incubator the CM participated in the stone painting activity of the artists. He also took active interest in the fabric weaving activity of the workers in another stall.
The CM was informed that the women SHGs associated with Kedarnath Yatra did a business of more than Rs 70 lakh last year. These groups sold Rs 65 lakh of the Prasad made from Chaulai (amaranth) in the Yatra. These groups are employing 500 women. The district administration of Rudraprayag has now taken a target of selling Prasad worth Rs two crore in this year’s Yatra.
