In latest news from Uttarakhand, the film ‘Dharti Myar Kumao Ki’ directed by Jai Sri Kishan Nautiyal seems to have struck an emotional chord with the people of Kumaon. They are flocking to the cinemas/multiplexes at Ramnagar, Rudrapur, Kashipur and Halduchaur. They say with one voice on watching the film that it is a poignant and realistic portrayal of the tough life the people who live in the mountainous villages in the region have been facing for years.
Speaking on the just-released movie at Halduchaur, the director Nautiyal said that the film had brought into focus the perennial health and employment problems dogging life here. He further said that the youngsters who have prospered after migrating to cities and towns from villages should keep their emotional bonding with their ancestral villages intact. “This is the message underlying the story of the film,” he said, adding that the movie would be released at cinemas and multiplexes across Garhwal soon.
