Demanding resignation of the Union Home minister Amit Shah for his alleged derogatory comments made on BR Ambedkar, the vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Suryakant Dhasmana sat on a fast in front of the statue of Ambedkar at Clock Tower on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhasmana said that the people of the country will not tolerate the insult of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. He said that the Shah had made a derogatory comment on Ambedkar in Lok Sabha. Dhasmana said that the incident will go down as a black chapter in the history of the country.
He said that it is unfortunate that no senior leader of BJP and RSS has condemned the comment which shows that they are supporting Shah.
The Congress leader demanded that the home minister should seek apology for his comment failing which the Prime Minister should remove him from his cabinet.
