The vice chancellor of the Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), Vijay Dhasmana formally took over as the chancellor of the university on Monday.
Dhasmana has served as VC of SRHU for two tenures (2013 to 2017 and 2018 to 2023) prior to taking on responsibility as Chancellor. The pro-VC Vijendra Devi Singh Chauhan would be the new VC of the university.
Besides being a member of the presidential body of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT), Dhasmana is also chairperson of Swami Rama Foundation of USA, President of Swami Rama Nishkama Karma Yoga Trust and General Secretary of Sadhana Mandir Trust. He is also former Chairman of CII Uttarakhand.
A PhD from Rohilkhand University, Bareilly and Masters in Mathematics from HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar, Garhwal, Dhasmana also obtained his Masters in Computer Science from University of London, United Kingdom.
Dhasmana embarked on his professional journey as the treasurer of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust and now has over three decades of varied experience in the field of Finance, Strategy, Administration and Education.
