PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Suryakant Dhasmana has said that the Health minister should take immediate action in the case involving an elderly patient who was denied treatment in the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (Coronation) hospital.

The Congress leader warned that he will stage a Dharna outside the office of the chief medical superintendent of the District hospital on Monday if no action is taken by the government on the issue. He said that the video clearly shows that the elderly patient was forced to wait on the road outside the Emergency wing of the hospital. Terming the incident as pathetic and inhuman, Dhasmana said that the health services in the State are in shambles. “If such is the condition of the district hospital in the State capital then one can well imagine the condition in the other areas especially the mountainous parts of the State,’’ he said.

In her post on the social media, the chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni said that the plight of an elderly patient waiting for treatment shows the real picture of the health services.
