Election to important posts was held for the Diploma Pharmacist Association in Dehradun on March 27. It is learnt that while C M Rana has been elected president of the organisation Urmila Dwivedi has been elected secretary. On this occasion, a nine-point charter of demands was presented to the CMO Dr Sanjay Jain on behalf of the organisation. Dr Jain was present at the chief guest. One of the demands is the prompt clearance of the TA and DA dues of the pharmacists for previous year for Char Dham Yatra duty. The union threatened that in case the bills are not cleared they would be compelled to stay away from the char dham yatra duty this year. The association members further alleged that since the time IPHS was enforced in the state, the number of the vacant posts of the pharmacists has been increasing in the government hospitals.
