The State’s Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaaz has written to the Union Defence minister Rajnath Singh requesting him to instruct officials concerned for oxygen production and production of oxygen concentrators in Dehradun. He said that this will help ensure relief to the public and swift treatment of the Covid patients.

He said that the demand for oxygen has been rising with the recent surge in Covid cases in Uttarakhand. Maharaaz requested the Defence minister to direct the officials to start oxygen production and manufacturing of oxygen concentrators soon in Dehradun.

The minister also congratulated Singh and all those involved in formulation of the 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) made jointly by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) lab INMAS and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories. Maharaaz expressed confidence in the nation’s capability to defeat the pandemic with joint efforts.
