The direct selling Industry, with its tenacity and perseverance over the years, has acquired Indian characteristics and market traits. It originates from the momentous economic reform decisions which took place in 1991, economic reforms initiated by the government. In the last 26 years, direct selling industry has achieved a pan India market acceptance and has provided self-entrepreneurial career opportunities for women and youth in the country, said Altos Enterprises managing director Abhishek Gupta.
“I am proud to be an Indian citizen who is involved with the Indian direct selling industry which is growing steadily. Given India’s demographic dividends, I believe the direct selling industry in India has the potential to be among the top five in the coming years. India has one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, making it a high-growth market. The direct selling industry has transformed, and youth are leading the charge with the right attitude, skill set, and entrepreneurial mindset to make a widespread impact. India has ideal demographic dividends and with proactive industry policies, I expect more international companies to come and be a part of India’s growth story,” said Gupta.
