Distribution of assets- Dhami govt surrendered interests of U’khand- Harish Rawat

Former chief minister and head of campaign committee of Uttarakhand Congress Harish Rawat has accused the BJP government in Uttarakhand of surrendering the state’s assets to Uttar Pradesh (UP). He said that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has surrendered the interests of the state before the big brother UP. He said that surrendering the valuable land of the irrigation department in lieu of the Alaknanda Hotel and handing over the assets of Badrinath ji temple to UP is a big blow to the interests of the state. He claimed that the issues like share of state in Tehri Hydropower project and others were not taken up with the seriousness they deserved.

Rawat said that interests worth Rs 100 crores of the state were compromised in the assets of Uttarakhand Transport Corporation. Rawat said that he has great respect for the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh (UP) Aditya Nath but surrendering the interests of Uttarakhand before UP is a great injustice for the people of Uttarakhand. Rawat said that UP is sitting over the fund of Rs 5000 crore of 11th finance commission and the interest incurred on the deposits of the revolving fund of District Panchayats of 13 districts. Similarly UP has grabbed the pending interests of about Rs 15 crore as per the contract of the Uttar Pradesh industrial development department and is holding the payment of Rs 8.80 crore of the Uttarakhand Tarai Seed and development council.  The former CM added that the UP is sitting over the assets of state guest houses located in Lucknow and Delhi. He claimed that the interests of Uttarakhand were surrendered by the BJP government of the state under pressure from the Union government. Rawat termed the agreement reached on distribution assets as irrational and a big blow to the interests of the people of Uttarakhand. He said that the Congress party does not accept the agreement as the central leadership of BJP is playing the strings to get benefit in the upcoming assembly elections of Uttar Pradesh.
