Following the direction of the health minister Dhan Singh Rawat, the administration of Deen Dayal Upadhyay District Hospital has geared up for changing bed linens in different colours from Monday through Sunday. Stating this, medical superintendent Dr VS Chauhan stated that the health minister has recently instructed all government hospitals across the state to adopt the practice of regularly changing bed linens in patient wards.
Additionally, he has advised that the hospital management utilise bed linens of different colours each day. Consequently, in response to the health minister’s directive, the hospital administration has taken action to procure bed linens in various colours corresponding to each day of the week. He stated that the relevant officials have been instructed to procure bed linens. Approximately 2,000 to 3,000 bed linens in various colours will be acquired. The hospital administration has been ensuring the quality of the bed linens prior to purchase. In light of this, the procurement process is expected to take 15 days, after which the directives from the Health minister will be implemented at the hospital. He noted that the funding for the bed linens purchases has been allocated to the hospital from the funds received from the State government under the Ayushman scheme. The aim of this initiative is to regularly change the bed linens according to the colours designated for each day, thereby maintaining hygiene for the patients and enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal, he added.
He further emphasised that, as per the guidelines, a white bed sheet will be spread in the ward on Monday, pink on Tuesday, green on Wednesday, yellow on Thursday, purple on Friday, blue on Saturday and light grey on Sunday.
