District Legal Services Authority, Almora hosts awareness camp, debate competition

As per the guidelines of Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority, Nainital and under the guidance of the president of District Legal Services Authority Almora, Shrikant Pandey, an essay, slogan and debate competitions and awareness camps were organised in the Government Inter College Manan and Government Inter College Damdia, located in remote areas, on the topic ‘Constitution of India’ as part of the. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Along with this, an awareness camp was organised in the Government Girl’s Inter College Someshwar. The students present in the camps were informed about cybercrime, good touch, bad touch, POCSO Act, Child Marriage Prohibition Act, Child Helpline Number -1098, NALSA, SALSA, Legal Services Scheme for Workers in unorganized sector 2015, cyber harassment, cyber bullying and Narcotics Control Information Centre among others.
Among those present were the principals and teachers of the institutions and Adhikar Mitras. After this programme, the secretary of District Legal Services Authority Almora, Shashi Sharma inspected the Legal Aid Centre located in Tehsil Someshwar. She appreciated the initiatives to hold such camps, saying these help increase awareness about law and new schemes.
