The Bharatiya Janata Party has averred that district Panchayat members have exposed the Congress, while also questioning the Nyay Yatra announced by senior Congress leader Harish Rawat.
Talking to media persons here on Saturday, the BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt welcomed the statements made by Nainital district Panchayat members, stating that this has exposed the lies of the Congress.
He said that the statements of these five Panchayat members have clarified that they are free and that they were not under any pressure. This has exposed the propaganda spread by the Congress. Bhatt said that the Congress is habituated to looking for such excuses when it faces electoral defeat.
Referring to Harish Rawat’s Nyay Yatra, the BJP State president said that how many times he approached the public, the blessings the people gave him and the result of this is evident now. Barring the Dehradun district Panchayat, the Congress has been wiped out at the Gram Panchayat, block Panchayat and district Panchayat levels across the State, he averred, adding that Rawat’s propaganda will not have any effect on the public.
Regarding the confusion being spread regarding the monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha to be held in Gairsain, Bhatt said that the opposition talks about Gairsain while in Dehradun and then questions the session being held there. He further said that raising questions at constitutional institutions to hide its own failuers is an old habit of the Congress.
Alleging that the Congress has always sheltered politicals with criminal tendencies, the BJP State president said that the resounding victory of the BJP has made the Congress feel its impending defeat in the 2027 Assembly elections. This is the reason why its leaders are behaving in this manner, Bhatt added.
