DM and SSP conduct joint inspection to check election arrangements

The Dehradun district magistrate Sonika along with senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh on Sunday conducted a joint inspection of the nomination room being set up in the DM court located in the collectorate. The district administration and police are gearing up to make arrangements to conduct the Lok Sabha elections in a fair and peaceful manner. The SSP inspected the area and directed the officials concerned to ensure proper arrangements like barricading and necessary security arrangements during the nomination process.
The DM informed that March 27 is the last date for nomination submission and March 28 is the last date for scrutiny of nomination papers. She said that March 30 will be the last date for withdrawal of nominations and April 19 will be the voting day. She said that the district administration has made all election related preparations in all booths and is conducting regular awareness campaigns among people to motivate them to cast their vote on the polling day.
Authorities have also been directed to ensure proper implementation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) at every level. The SSP also stated that the police are taking all possible measures to ensure fair and peaceful elections in the district.
