DM annoyed over Forest dept impeding drinking water schemes

The Champawat district magistrate, Manish Kumar heard out 71 complaints during a public hearing programme held on Monday. The complainants came from several remote areas, including Tanakpur. He resolved some of the problems on the spot and directed the officers concerned to act on others at the earliest.
He also expressed strong displeasure over the unnecessary obstacles being created by the Forest department in the implementation of drinking water schemes.
He further directed the officers concerned to start drinking water supply from the Khetikhan Pumping Scheme by October 30. He asked the people to contact him directly if drinking water or other public facilities are not available within the time frame drawn up by the district administration.
