DM asks admin to prepare for summer season forest fire

In latest news from Uttarakhand, to prepare in advance to stop and mitigate the forest blazes which happen at the peak of summer season, a district-level forest fire safety workshop was organised in the Collectorate chaired by the district magistrate Mayur Dixit.
The DM said that with the forest wealth being the national wealth, it was the responsibility of one and all to preserve forest. He urged all concerned to complete all the preparations in time.
He stressed on constituting a group to be tasked with controlling forest fire which would include staffer of forest, revenue, police, fire and rural development departments among others. Further, he directed the DFO of Tehri Narendranagar to organise a joint mock drill involving various important departments.
Moreover, he directed to keep the fire control room updated through installation of all necessary equipment. It must be ensured that the villagers complete burning stubble in their fields within the stipulated time for which a public awareness campaign should be run in rural areas through village guards and rural committees, he said.
