Dehradun district magistrate Sonika has appealed to citizens to follow Covid appropriate behaviour after the recent increase in Covid-19 cases in the district. She conducted a meeting with the district health department officials on Thursday and directed the chief medical officer to make necessary arrangements in hospitals considering the recent rise in Covid cases.
The DM instructed the CMO to ensure all necessary medical equipment and facilities are available in the hospitals including beds, and oxygen among other facilities. She also directed the officials to make arrangements for Covid patients in hospitals in such a way that other patients do not get infected by them. The CMO informed the DM that all the hospitalised Covid patients are suffering from co-morbidities and most of the Covid patients are getting treatment at home as per the guidelines.
The DM also directed the municipal bodies, health department and other associated bodies to conduct public awareness programmes through various mediums to raise awareness among citizens to prevent Covid contagion across the district. She also appealed to the citizens to take precautionary measures against Covid-19, especially in public places. Though there is no need to panic regarding Covid-19, citizens should follow Covid-19 protocols to stay safe, said the DM. As per the officials, 44 patients were found to be Covid positive in the Dehradun district on Thursday.
