Considering possible calamities like heavy rainfall, cloudburst, floods and landslides, among others during monsoon, the Dehradun district magistrate Sonika issued an order on Thursday stating that no district and block level officers of the departments concerned will get leaves till September 30, except in unavoidable circumstances. She also said that it will be mandatory for the departmental officers to be present on the spot immediately for relief and rescue if an area is hit by any calamity. She also directed all the officials concerned to remain available in their respective areas with full preparations at all times to tackle any disaster across the district. It should be the priority of all the officials to make plans and take all possible measures to ensure successful relief and rescue operation as per the requirement. No negligence will be tolerated at any level, she added.
