Kanvashram route to be used to ensure supply of essential commodities

The Pauri district magistrate Ashish Chauhan said that the transportation of essential commodities will not be affected due to the collapse of a part of the Malan bridge in Kotdwar. The transportation of essential commodities and other materials to the common man, market and industry will be ensured by the alternate Kanvashram route in Kotdwar.
After the inspection of the damaged Malan bridge Chauhan said that the alternate Kanvashram route will be provided for transportation. Efforts will be ensured to facilitate relief to the public despite the damaged Malan bridge. Chauhan instructed the Forest department for the lopping of the trees and bushes along the alternate Kanvashram route for the safety of people from the wild animals.
The district magistrate also instructed the engineers of Public Works Department to take immediate steps to prepare modern design and better technology with the help of an expert for the repair of the bridge. Chauhan directed the Irrigation department to channelise the flow of the river as needed to protect the bridge and prevent soil erosion on both sides of the river. Chauhan instructed the sub divisional magistrate, municipal corporation and UREDA to install solar lights on the alternate route as required. The health department should ensure a medical team with an ambulance in the area.
