In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Uttarkashi district magistrate and the district election officer Meherban Singh Bisht directed officers concerned to go all-out to raise polling percentage at the booth level for the Lok Sabha poll slated in the State on April 19. While hailing the role of the booth level officers (BLO) in electioneering, he said that incentive assistance and citation would be presented to those BLOs who would do commendable work.
While taking an election-related stock-taking meeting, Singh spoke of the administration’s intention to rope in NCC, NSS volunteers and higher class students in help the physically challenged and elderly people cast vote. He also stressed on
continuously motivating young and women voters to come out to exercise franchise.
